BiO-LiFE Livasil® is a high-strength liver tonic. It is standardised to 80% silybin, the most active constituents in Milk Thistle. The bioavailability of silybin is, on average 4.6 times higher than free silymarin. Silybin possesses antioxidant and hepato-protective properties.
Silybin has been found to stabilise cell membranes, thus preventing toxic chemicals from entering the cell and exporting toxins out of the cell before damage ensues. Apart from that, silybin also act as a free radical scavenger, increasing the activity of both superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in human cell lines. Glutathione is the body's main antioxiadant enzyme which improves liver detoxification by binding to toxins and neutralising their harmful effects.
